Car Insurance Volvo (Car Insurance). would 2 -12 inch subs crack a pontiac sunfire's windows?would 2 -12 inch subs crack a pontiac sunfire's windows? I currently have 2 twelve inch Alpines Type-E (sub woofers) and one Orion 800 watt amp. I was curious if this set up would have the chance of breaking windows in a 4 door pontiac sunfire. I am planning on putting the setup in the trunk. I am asking because my friend said he has heard of it happening before. Thanks! No thats a lie I have 2 12 alpine type r 1500 watts each in my sunfire and a power acoustic 2400watts and nothing has ever happens I had it for 1 year already and they are beast . So go head and put it on there im not going to call your friend a liar but i have never heard of this happening at all. i had a 1000 watt set up with 2 10 inch jensens top of the line in the back in my sunfire and nothing....well i cant say that, my trunk got unaligned and actually chipped my paint a little but no my glass did not break. If 4 15" kicker l7s & 12 sa-8s cant do it then no way will 2 alpine type-e subs. Lol, no freaking way Alpine type-E can blow the windows out, I had MTX TS8512 for 2 years now, still haven't blow the windows out, it broke my review mirror that's about it. If you want to broken the windows, single 12 inch Fi BTL n2 or n3 might be able to do it, but not too sure. Soon I'll be getting sinlge 12 inch Orion HCCA for my car, one of my friend used single 12 inch Fi BTL n2 in his Scion tC no windows has blowed out yet, but they flex like crazy. Okay, I was driving home, and I began having some unintended acceleration problems (NO, it's not a Toyota, and I'm not going to say what it is because I don't want to start a stupid and irrelevant debate). It's an automatic, and at intermittent times the RPMs would only go down to 3000 instead of the usual 800, probably a sticky valve of some sort because my car is not throttle by wire. So whenever this was the case and I had to stop, I'd pop it into neutral, and put it back into drive when I could go (this was rough on the tranny I know, but this isn't the main problem, I only had to do this a couple times). The main problem is that one of these episodes of unintended high revving occurred when I was stopping at a stop sign where some kids where crossing the street near my home, so instead of calmly putting in to neutral as usual, I did it hastily, and as a result overshot it and put it into reverse. My car is old and does not has reverse inhibiting, so there was a grind of some sort, but I brought the shifter back into neutral in a split second. I drove the car around the block after, it shifted smoothly, and it was still reversing fine, but are there any symptoms I should be vigilant for? Thanks car insurance. Whats a good, flashy, fun car that gets good gas mileage for an affordable price? (extra car)? Whats a good, flashy, fun car that gets good gas mileage for an affordable price? (extra car)? I have a great truck that gets a whopping 8 MPG, and a heavily modified 2011 Camaro SS that gets about 17, but I won't take it out in the rain/snow/clouds/drive it downtown/etc. I'd like to get another car to scoot around in, but I want something thats fun/a little flashy and gets decent gas mileage. My budgets pretty low, and I'd like to keep it under 10/12k, although I could go higher if I really wanted to. I'll probably only keep it for a year or two. I was thinking: Porshe Boxster, Pontiac Fiero, Honda CRX, Del Sol, toyota MR2. Any of the cheaper cars (fiero, CRX, etc.) I'll dump a few thousand into. I don't need to haul people or stuff- thats what my truck and car are for. I was also thinking maybe a 350z, 300ZX, 280Z, 3000GT, or an older porsche, but most of them get pretty poor gas mileage. I'm too tall for a Miata or Z3 or something like that. Even the boxster is a stretch, but I talked to a guy who modified his seat and I think I can make it work. car insurance. Volvo . How to Get Rid of the Smell of Dog From a CarIf you take your dog along on car trips, even just brief trips to the store, eventually your car may develop a dog odor. While your dog won't mind if your car gets a bit smelly, you and your passengers probably will mind. Musty dog odors can linger a long time if you don't do something about it. You don't have to clean your car upholstery and carpet completely to get this smell out, although that would help. You can get rid of the musty dog odor quickly and inexpensively using just a few products. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need White vinegar Spray bottle Cloth Baking soda Vacuum cleaner Odor neutralizing spray Step by Step : 1 Mix white vinegar and water, half and half, in a spray bottle. Spray a small section of fabric upholstery to check that the vinegar and water mix won't fade the fabric. 2 Spray this over all the car upholstery and carpet. Spray extra in the area your dog usually is held (the back seat, for example). 3 Wipe down all upholstery with a soft cloth, if the upholstery is leather or vinyl. Otherwise, just roll down the windows and let the fabric air dry. 4 Sprinkle baking soda over the carpet and upholstery, as suggested by carspace.com. Leave it on overnight and vacuum it up in the morning. Most of the odor, if not all, should be gone by now. 5 Spray the car interior with a commercial odor-neutralizing spray. Many brands exist, and offer many scents. Tips & Warnings Instead of spraying vinegar and water, you can soak a piece of bread in vinegar and place it on a saucer in your car overnight, as suggested by rd.com. If upholstery needs cleaning anyway, and you have time, go ahead and use a carpet and upholstery shampoo on your car's interior. Brush it in and vacuum it up later when it has dried. Then use the vinegar spray or a commercial odor neutralizer for additional freshness. Another home product that removes some odors is old coffee grounds--just place them in an open container and leave it in your car overnight (don't pour them on upholstery or carpet directly as coffee can stain). Your car will smell like coffee, but this is usually a more pleasant odor than dog.
Volvo . How to Eliminate Cigarette Smell from Car InteriorsCigarette smoke can absorb into your car's upholstery and leave behind a nasty odor. Eliminate cigarette smells from your car's interior by placing charcoal inside the car. The charcoal works to absorb the odor, whereas air fresheners will only mask it. By employing a combined regime of regularly cleaning your car's interior, using charcoal and air fresheners, you can get rid of cigarette odors while leaving your car clean and fresh. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Vacuum Dashboard cleaner Laundry machine Car upholstery cleaner Scrub brush Saucers Charcoal Interior air filter Air freshener Step by Step : 1 Empty out your car's ashtrays. Stop smoking inside the car. 2 Clean the interior by vacuuming the interior floors, seats and in between the seat crevices. Machine wash any detachable upholstery units according to the manufacturer's directions. Shampoo and wash detachable carpet flooring with a scrub brush. Clean the dashboard with a dashboard cleaning solution available in automotive stores. Shampoo and wash car seats with car upholstery cleaners. Air-dry the car by opening the doors so that clean air circulates throughout the interior. 3 Place a couple of damp saucers on the dashboard, car seats and floors throughout the interior. Place small amounts of dampened, activated carbon charcoal on the saucers. Leave the charcoal inside the car with all the doors and windows shut for at least 12 hours. The longer you leave the charcoal inside the car, the more odor it will absorb. 4 Change interior air filters following the manufacturer's directions or have them changed professionally at a car mechanic's shop. 5 Leave an air freshener in the car to emit a pleasant scent. *resistance and the surface of the highway, you don't need much power to keep moving at a good clip after you get there. 176 Part II: What Makes It Go? In Fifth gear, the ratio is usually an overdrive of around 0.75:1, which means that the engine can turn more slowly than the output shaft's speed. You want to be at that ratio on the highway for good fuel economy. However, you do need to downshift if you want to pass someone, because you don't have much engine power with this ratio. Automatic Transmissions Did you know that today's automatic transmissions are computer-controlled hydraulic systems? Previous automatic transmissions were mechanically controlled. This section covers the basic features of both. An automatic transmission works on the same basis as a manual transmis sion does, with a gear selector on the steering column or floor to allow you to tell the car to park, idle, go in reverse, go forward at varying speeds, or 420

But instead of a manual clutch, an automatic transmission uses a torque converter and hydraulic pressure to change gears automatically. The torque converter replaces the standard transmission's clutch. The torque converter is a fluid coupling that transfers power from the engine to the transmission input shaft. It allows for smooth transfer of power and at highway speeds can be locked up to reduce slippage and improve fuel economy. Shifting in an automatic transmission is controlled by either a hydraulic system or an electronic system. Hydraulically controlled transmissions con sist of an intricate network of valves and other components along with hydraulic pressure to control the operation of planetary gearsets (see Figure 9-6). These gearsets can be fashioned to generate three, four, or five forward speeds. Volvo . What happens to thrown out car tires?
they get thrown into a landfill and set on fire. then to cover it up, they bury it but the fire is still alive within! GMC Terrain. * A very thin oil called transmission fluid fills the transmission system and generates hydraulic pressure. As the engine speed changes, the pump that pumps the transmission fluid to develop hydraulic pressure also changes speed. The transmission fluid responds to the changes in pressure by flowing through the transmission at different rates. When the car is moving slowly, the pressure is low, and only the low gears respond. In Drive, as the car's speed increases, so does the pressure, and higher gears are brought into play. The hydraulic pressure drives the transmission gears by means of friction bands and plates. These bands and plates do the same thing that the clutch on a manual transmission does — they pull various gears into and out of action. When mechanics tell you that your bands need adjusting, these are the bands they're talking about. They can usually make this adjustment without taking the transmission apart.
